2026 Interior Design Trends Predictions
Today, we’re sharing some of the trends that we’re really excited about in 2026. These are things that we’re inspired by and have been for quite a bit, so you’ll see them pop up in EMI designs and product recommendations more and more in the new year!
While we try to steer clear of the word “trend”, we always are leaning towards more classic pieces that converge with modern touches that we see making more waves.
Some of these trends might feel like call backs, but the truth is, a really good trend should be.
reimagined neutrals

If you’ve watched EMI for awhile, you’ll know that we’re a neutral positive place! With that said, neutrals are not only set aside for greys + creams. In 2026, we’re planning on seeing a lot more of one of our favorite neutrals: blue!
*queue confusion*
Hear us out: the last couple years we’ve seen greens emerge across the chosen hue spectrum, but in 2026, you’re going to see a lot more blue tones make their grand return. From paint, fabrics, ginger jars, etc. Variations of the color will find it’s way back into homes.
silvery finishes

Don’t @ me, I still am obsessed with gorgeous brass tones, but silver finishes are making their way out of the builder-grade and into the luxury home.
I’ve started to pull more antique silvers and pewter tones in accents and lighting, letting some of that natural patina break through the design.
warm minimalism

One thing we’ve learned time and time again, people want their homes to feel lived in and comforting. The minimalist mantra of less is more still lives within this design trend, but instead of colder pieces we’re choosing layered rugs, nubby fabrics and vintage touches.
It’s bringing the soul into the serenity of it all.
opulent cottage

To piggyback off of the trend above is opulent cottage, which is combining all of the warmth of the popular cottage inspiration elevated with a richness in its accents.
From natural materials, vintage fabrics - adding in those touches of silver, blue and white to bring a curated level of fanciness.
Livable luxury, if you will.
The truth about trends, for us, is that we’ll always choose the classic that cycle back with fresh concepts.
Longevity is the biggest trend for us.
